D&D Construction Services Ltd
Planning to open up a room or remove a load-bearing wall? We carry out steel beam installation as part of structural alterations and knock-through projects across Liverpool, Sefton and the Wirral.
Steel beams for planned structural alterations
Removing or widening a wall can change how a building is supported. We install steel beams for agreed building projects, working to the structural design and specification prepared for the property.
Every property and opening is different. Before work begins, the required design, approvals and scope need to be established for the job. We can discuss the building work and coordinate the installation sequence with the relevant engineer and other trades.
What a steel beam project may involve
- Wall openings and knock-throughs
- Installation of a specified steel beam
- Temporary support and planned sequencing
- Coordination with the structural engineer
- Related building work and making good
- Plastering and finishing as part of the agreed scope
Clear scope before work starts
Structural calculations and design must be provided by a suitably qualified engineer, and any required Building Control approvals are dealt with for the project. Our role is to carry out the agreed building work and beam installation to the supplied specification; we do not provide engineering calculations.
We can view the property, discuss the proposed opening and explain what information is needed to price the work. The quotation will set out the agreed work, including any related making-good or finishing required.
